More than one million views to date across YouTube, Facebook and other platforms. It was the first video we produced for a million smiles, and was the key to our early success – gaining coverage on most national TV news channels and newspapers in Sri Lanka, as well as being shared by a huge number of international viral news platforms including UpWorthy, Buzz Feed and ‘the best of YouTube’.
Since this video was published ‘The Happiest Man Alive’ has featured on national TV and radio programs across Sri Lanka, turning this beautiful, humble man into a B-Grade celebrity. But was it all luck? Given it was the 13th edit of the video that we finally published, we’d like to think it was more about promoting the right story, in the right place, at the right time.
